In 2021, Spina Bifida Hydrocephalus Ireland secured funding through Pobal under the Dormant Accounts Fund to develop and deliver an education and employment programme to our members. This funding was secured after we identified a need for people living with spina bifida and/or hydrocephalus (SB/H) to receive increased support in entering and succeeding within the workforce. Thankfully, the application was successful, and the programme is now a reality.
After the successful recruitment of a Programme Coordinator, Skills Officer, and Peer Mentor, we are now delighted to announce the launch of the ‘What Works For Me’ programme. The programme will support participants on a one-to-one basis to secure and progress within meaningful employment.
