SHINE - Bus Driver

Roles and Responsibilities

Hours of work: in line with programme of activities

Overall Job Purpose: to drive participants, staff and volunteers of SHINE to different activities and venues

Reporting to: Coordinator

To become a bus driver for SHINE, you must:

  • Have a valid mini bus licence (D1 or B or equivalent)
  • Experience and valid training in driving a wheelchair accessible vehicle
  • Experience and valid training in clamping wheelchairs onto bus
  • Have a positive and enthusiastic attitude
  • Willing to assist with programme activities where required
  • Be a caring, hard working, responsible and compassionate person

To become a SHINE Bus Driver you must:

  • Be 21 years of age, or older, by the 21st June prior to SHINE starting Have a full and clean drivers licence
  • Have a Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC)
  • Be an excellent communicator
  • Have a positive and enthusiastic attitude
  • Be a caring, hard working, responsible and patient person
